Being pioneers, youth have been urged to be exemplary so as to make national youth service program valuable and fruitful

This was said during the event to showcase what has been achieved through good governance in Ngoma district.

The Deputy Director in charge of Social Protection Program at Rwanda Local Development Support Fund (RLDSF) Justine Gatsinzi who was the main guest told the youth to work hard putting in the mind they are the pioneers.

“You are the firstborns of this program in Rwanda, what do you think the country expects from you? When the firstborn becomes useless, the parent is worried if the second born will be victorious. It’s you to bring glory to your country,” Gatsinzi asserts after finding youth cleaning Kibungo town.

Another youth leader in Kibungo sector explained that after collecting information on government programs from all cells, youth have engaged in manual activities.

“Youth in Kibungo sector turn up for every activity after which we are required to make a report. After moving door to door searching for information, youth are cleaning Kibungo town to make it neater,” he adds.

National service is made of secondary school leavers who come together to work for the development of the country. Though it is happening for the first time, national service is planned to take place every year for students that will have completed secondary education.
