About 60 students from the Kigali Independent University (ULK) represented the Rwanda Union of University Students and gave 20 goats to the poor vulnerable people in Ngororero sector in Ngororero district
This was after these students support to the youth on Urugerero in preparing the site for building Murambi settlement village in Kazabe cell in Ngororero sector and constructing a road on 1300M worth Rwf1.3 million and has dialogue with the local people.
These students presented many subjects to the people and Urugerero youth on patriotism, the dangers of drugs especially on the youth and many others. “Loving one’s country is to sacrifice for it and do whatever can promote and develop the country” discussed Gloria Uwamwiza.
“Drugs can destroy the strength of the country and decline the country’s economy” Immaculate Mupenzi also discussed on his topic. The goats given by ULK students are worth Rwf400.000 that was collected by students.
“the education provided to students in the universities should change the social welfare of local people” said John Hategekimana the ULK students dean.
According to the Charlotte Musabyezu the vice mayor for social affairs who represented the district officials in this function, ULK should be applauded for its role in the development of the country. The road constructed by these students will be named after the students union (AGE ULK).
The Union of Rwanda University Students (FAGER) has a motto saying “One goal, one passion, Building our future”. The guild president of AGEULK Fancois Xavier Ntabwoba attended this function.
ULK is yet to sign a memorandum of understanding for the support between Ngororero and ULK students.
