The poor and vulnerable 1994 genocide against Tutsis survivors in Nyabihu district are grateful for the material support from the government, having given them accommodation, facilitated them with 24 productive projects involving animal husbandry, crop farming and trading among others for their development.
This was said by Anastase Juru the coordinator of IBUKA in Nyabihu district thanking the support by the government of Rwanda adding that all these projects are already up and operating and are financially supported by The Assistance Fund for Genocide Survivors (FARG)
Another achievement worth to be commended as Juru said is the properties of the genocide orphans that were taken by other people as well as the properties destroyed during the genocide that are being paid back.
“The social welfare of the genocide survivors is improving by day considering the problems they passed through. Now the children, elderly, and everyone at that have hope and can dream of a better future in development” says Juru.
According to Anastase Juru, Apart from the renovation of old houses that are being worked on and the properties of genocide survivors that are not yet compensated; all other demands of genocide survivors have been met.
