During the celebrations to mark the heroes day in Burera district, four residents were rewarded with two hoes each for the good contribution to their community’s development.
Among rewarded were;Emmanuel Nimero, Liberatha Hakizimana, Papias Kuradusenge and also a cooperative called “Abadasigana” all because of the good work they did in helping vulnerable people and also developing agriculture in the area.
The mayor of the district Samuel Sembarage therefore said that these people were rewarded because of their good deeds, which showed heroism in them.
Abadasigana cooperative got an idea of building houses for homeless people with about 120 houses constructed now, which earned them the reward.
For Liberatha Hakizimana he was rewarded because of helping an orphan who is now studying in primary five.
The other people were rewarded because of their contribution to developing agriculture in the sector.
The Executive secretary of the sector Theogene Nizeyimana therefore said that these people were rewarded because of the good example they gave to others, adding on that they were given hoes since they all are involved in agriculture.
The mayor concluded the celebrations asking the residents to always have dignity, unity, work hard and therefore help the country develop.
