Ruhango: Residents advised to prevent disasters

Residents are urged to prevent natural disasters

  The mayor of Ruhango district, Xavier Francois Mbabazi has asked different leaders to prevent natural disasters.

This comes after the recent heavy rain that claimed lives and destroyed many houses in Kigali city on February 23rd 2013.

Mbabazi asked school administrators, health centre officials and others to install lightening protective devices in advance to ensure safety of the infrastructures like schools.

“On most occasions we have warned you on preventing disasters. What would you do if like heavy rains take you by surprise and your houses are destroyed?” the mayor laments.

Ruhango is among the districts that commonly affected by natural disasters especially lightening that destroys infrastructures such as schools and claims some people’s lives.
