Dukundumurimo cooperative in Rushaki sector in Gicumbi district have donated foodstuffs and other materials to the Tanzania evictees in Gicumbi district, a move that also helps evictees feel comfortable and welcome
Frank Kam, executive secretary of Rushaki sector said the move was aimed at showing love and care for Rwandans evicted from Tanzania in the mid of last year 2013.
According to Rushaki sector Executive Secretary: “There are two families in Rushaki sector; one comprised of six people and another one of one person who left his family in Tanzania. It’s vital we show them love because they are also Rwandans”.
During the event, Stanislas Kagenzi, vice mayor for economic affairs in Gicumbi district told evictees that the government will include them in Girinka, Ubudehe and other development programs.
Samuel Nshimiyimana, an evictee that came back with the wife and four children commends residents for the way they welcomed them in Rwanda and for the continuous help rendered.
Gicumbi district has received 38 households comprising of 112 members and are being resettled in all sectors of the district.
