Rwanda | Gatsibo: Good governance month engage residents in development activities

Gatsibo Good governance month

The government of Rwanda introduced good governance month to train Rwandese on finding resolutions for their own problems and fully participate in the development of the country.

 While it is carried out once in a year, the event to officially start the good governance month in Gatsibo district was held on January 22nd 2013 in Ndatemwa cell in Kiziguro sector.

The guest speaker, Hon. Protais Musoni, Minister of Local Government, Good Governance, Community Development and Social Affairs told the participants that the objective of this month is to strengthen residents and leaders participation in good governance program.

Emphasizing dignity and self support, Minister Musoni asserted: “We should work and support our selves in order to have dignity, as our President H.E Paul Kagame urges us to.”

Since good governance goes with decentralization, National service program will be started during good governance month to celebrate the achievements in decentralization program.

Good governance month was organized by the Ministry of Local Government in partnership with Rwanda Governance Board (RGB), National Civic education commission and Rwanda Local Development Support Fund (RLDSF).
