The Rwanda of today was put into existence after many people decided to become sacrifices for others to survive and to get Rwanda out of the darkness it was in.

Ruhango residents say they can never forget the achievements of the Rwandan heroes who took them out of darkness and genocide and gave them peace, roads, electricity, cows to rear and all the development they could not get through different governments that took over one after the other.

“We have milk for our children and they are healthy, that’s the satisfaction of a parent. We farm and harvest enough which was never the case before, we have peace, what is there to say to ever repay the sacrifices made by some Rwandans for us to be happy and peaceful” reasoned Felicien Habineza an old man who resides in Kirengeri cel in Byimana sector.

Felicien Habineza as well as other residents in this area says the Heroes day to be celebrated each year was a good decision for them never to forget about these heroes who will be honored for the 19th year.

“Every Rwandan should respect and dignify the Heroes day by commemorating Rwandans who gave up their lives for Rwanda and Rwandans to be known and respected internationally” argued Felicien Habineza.

The Heroes day which will be celebrated for the 19th time on Friday the 1st.Feb.2013 has a theme saying “heroism, the basis to dignity and development” every village will hold the celebrations.
