Ndayisaba yakomeje avuga ko kuba bemera ko jenoside yakozwe kandi ko ari amateka y’abanyarwanda b’ubu n’abazaza ari imwe mu ntwaro zifashishwa mu guhangana n’abayipfobya, barwanya kwibuka ndetse no gufata neza inzibutso.

Umuyobozi w’akarere ka Nyamagabe, Mugisha Philbert yashimiye abacitse ku icumu ko bakomeye ndetse bakaba bafite icyizere cyo kubaho kandi neza.

Yatangaje ko ubuyobozi buzi neza ko hari ibibazo abacitse ku icumu bagihura nabyo n’ubwo hari intambwe nini bateye, bukaba bufite gahunda zo kubikemura ku bufatanye n’abafatanyabikorwa.

Yavuze ko mu byateye Jenoside harimo no kutigira kw’abanyarwanda, aho abanyamahanga babashutse bakabereka ko atari bamwe nabo bakayoboka babitewe no kuba ntaho bari bashingiye.

Abaturage bashishikarijwe kuzitabira ibiganiro byose bizatangwa muri iki cyumweru cy’icyunamo kandi bakanakomeza gufatana mu nda. Urwibutso rwo mu murenge wa Mamba rwashyizweho indabo muri uyu muhango kuri ubu rushyinguwemo abantu basaga 29000, vuba aha hakazanashyingurwamo abandi 4.

Following the Genocide Mourning week that commenced on 7^th April, Students of the School of Finance and Banking (SFB) organized a charity action to support Survivors of the 1994 Genocide in Bugesera district, Nyamata Sector.

The team of energetic youth from SFB cemented and repaired roofs and doors of 8 houses that belong to both widows and orphans left helpless by the mayhem that occurred in Rwanda during the deadly  hundred days of 1994.

An elderly lady named Vestine Nyiramana is one of the Survivors whose house was repaired; she expressed gratitude to the students for their support.

“My house was almost falling one me due to my inability to repair it. I thus highly thank these students for their support, may God help them with more.” Nyiramana thanked.

Norbert Iraguha an SFB student who was part of this volunteering team said that “Rwandan Youth should be the ones to change the bad history that represented our country. This is the reason we are doing activities like these.”

“Most of us were young during the time of Genocide but as we grew up we learnt how terrible the history was, thus we are to do everything possible that such never happens again,” added Iraguha.

The SFB students also contributed Rwf250,000 to support these Genocide survivors.

Burera district denounced that measures to fight malnutrition have been taken and in two years to come it will be history.

During the security meeting on March 26^th 2012, Mayor Samuel Sembagare disclosed that social affairs officials and local leadership will combine efforts to fight against malnutrition in the district.

Sembagare explains that malnutrition cases among children in this area are a result of parents’ ignorance because Burera has fertile soils for enough crops.

“Parents will be taught how to prepare well balanced food by encouraging them to have kitchen gardens and to give their children milk and eggs,” reveals Samuel Sembagare

He adds that the decisions taken will help eradicate malnutrition; that is through Girinka program where the beneficiaries give heifers to their neighbours so that all get milk and other cow benefits.

It is not right for Burera to have malnutrition problems when it is rich with all crops that could be used in balancing the diet, says Sembagare.

Dr. Tharcisse Mpunga, Butaro Hospital Director in Burera says that 231 children under 5 years and 26 children over 5 years of age have malnutrition problems in this district.
