Abagenerwabikorwa ba VUP bo mu Murenge wa Huye ho mu Karere ka Huye bari mu cyiciro cya mbere n’icya kabiri cy’ubudehe, bagenerwa inkunga y’ingoboka, bashinze koperative yitwa Imanishimwe. Ibikorwa by’iyi koperative byatangijwe ku mugaragaro kuwa 15 Gicurasi, 2013.

Abanyamuryango ba koperative Imanishimwe bishimiye iki gitekerezo cyo kubafasha kwibumbira muri koperative, kuko ngo izababashisha kubona igikorwa bakuraho amafaranga igihe bazaba batakigenerwa inkunga.

The Ruhango district administration has given cows to 53 families that reside in 4 sectors in the support of Girinka Program which was initiated by the president of the republic of Rwanda so that at least every Rwandan can own a cow.

Residents in the 4 sectors were given cows as those from Byimana sector were given 9 cows, Kabagali sector 15 cows, Kinihira sector 15 cows and Bweramana sector in 14cows. The other 5 sectors which were not given cows are yet to be given precisely early next week says Dieudonne Rugwizangoga the veterinary doctor in Ruhango district.

Residents who were given cows are the poor and vulnerable who were selected by their neighbours with the help of local authorities. The families which were given cows thanked the district administration especially the president of the Republic for initiating this program and made them farmers something which was just a dream to most of them.

They assured that now that they got cows to rear, they are going to work even harder to develop as they have been farming without manure, and their children will no longer be affected by kwashiorkor or malnutrition as they will be having milk.

Dieudonne Rugwizangoga the veterinary doctor in Nyabihu district said that every resident who was given a cow has a responsibility to give a cow to a neighbour once the cows reproduce. These 53 cows that were given by the district are additional to too many others which were given out by different partners in development, organizations and associations in Ruhango district.

Bikaba biteganyijwe ko n’indi mirenge 5 isigaye nayo izorozwa inka mu ntangiriro z’icyumweru gitaha; nk’uko bitangazwa na Rugwizangoga Dieu Donne ushinzwe ubworozi mu karere ka Ruhango.

Abaturage bahawe izi inka, akaba ari abaturage bafite amikoro make baba baratoranijwe n’abagenzi babo baturanye babifashijwe n’inzego zibanze.

Amatungo ya Habiyambere

The East African Community heads of State will gather at the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge in Arusha, Tanzania this Saturday 28.04.2012 in the 10^th extraordinary summit that brings together heads of member countries.

President Paul Kagame of the republic of Rwanda , Mwai Kibaki of the Republic of Kenya and Chairperson of the EAC Summit, President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of the United Republic of Tanzania, President Pierre Nkurunziza of the Republic of Burundi and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of the Republic of Uganda are all expected at the Summit.

At the Summit, the Heads of State will consider, among others, appointment of a new Deputy Secretary General from Uganda; renewal of contract of Mr. Jean Claude Nsengiyumva (Deputy Secretary General – Productive and Social Sectors); a report of the Council of Ministers on the proposed attainment of a Single Customs Territory; and a report of the Council of Ministers on the application by the Republic of South Sudan to join the East African Community.

Meanwhile, the 24th Extraordinary meeting of the EAC Council of the Ministers is currently underway at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC). The Council meeting is being held through a series of sessions which has seen the session of Senior Officials running from 20-22 April, followed by the Permanent Secretaries session from 23-24 April while the ministerial session is taking place this Wednesday 25^th April.

Gicumbi survivors receiving cows

 Over 60 cows of were donated to the families of survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Gicumbi district, last week. The donation is part of the one cow per family programme locally know as ‘Girinka.’  

Deogaratias Mwanafunze the coordinator of one cow per family program in the northern district of Gicumbi said that the cows were donated to poor families through the fund for genocide survivors (FARG).

“We have given cows to selected survivor families who seem to be under privileged than others in a bid to boost their economic and social wellbeing,” said Mwanafunze adding that those who benefited were selected from the Sectors of  Mutete, Muko, Rutare, Ruvune, Bukure, Giti, Kajyeyo, Nyamiyaga and Rwamiko.

Mukandamutsa Daphrose who benefited from the program said that the cow given to her will help her and her neighbors to get milk and manure adding that her social wellbeing will improve as a result.

Those who were given cows were urged to take good care of them so that they can fully benefit from them.

Girinka program (One cow per poor Family) was inspired by the Rwandan culture and initiated by His Excellency the President of the Republic in 2006.

Mwanafunze Deogaratias ushinzwe gahunda ya girinka munyarwanda mu karere ka Gicumbi avuga ko hatanzwe inka 60 zatanzwe ku nkunga y’ikigega gishinzwe gutera inkunga abacitse ku icumu rya Jenoside yakorewe abatutsi yabaye mu Rwanda mu 1994 (FARG).

Avuga ko abahawe inka biganjemo imiryango y’abacitse ku icumu batishoboye, bakomoka mu mirenge ya Mutete, Muko, Rutare, Ruvune, Bukure, Giti, Kajyeyo, Nyamiyaga na Rwamiko.

Umwe mu borojwe, Mukandamutsa Daphrose avuga ko inka abonye izamufasha kubona amata ndetse akabasha kwiteza imbere kuko bizatuma abona ifumbire agafumbira umurima we wari watangiye kurumbuka bityo ugatanga umusaruro. Avuga ko azarushaho kuyifata neza kugirango ibashe kumuha umusaruro.
