Residents of Mudende sector in Rubavu district have been advised to embrace unity as they join forces against poverty, according to a security meeting on 11^tJanuary 2013 with local authorities.

 In the meeting that was attended by Hon. Françoise Mukayisenga a member of parliament, she asked people to avoid and don’t pay attention to rumours meant to destabilize them by discouraging their hard work or their goal but to always look for facts from their leaders.

Rubavu district is one of the leading districts in the county to illegally bring drugs into Rwanda especially Marijuana from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Residents were called upon to avoid using such drugs and to report people who sell and abuse drugs especially because drug abuse discourages hard work which is their goal.

Mudende sector is very fertile in production of Irish potatoes where a hectare produces more than 15 tons of Irish potatoes and is one of the sectors that has soil productive for maize and vegetables.

Mr. Bénoit Rukabu the executive secretary of Mudende secretary advised farmers to protect their livestock form diseases and to stop working with con artists instead to go to financial institutions for financial services.
