Civic education given to Rwandans at different levels should base on examples, Charles Munyaneza; executive secretary of National Electoral Commission (NEC) has remarked.
This was revealed this May 2012, by executive secretary of National Electoral Commission (NEC) Charles Munyaneza, during the event to give four cows that NEC volunteers bought for genocide orphans.
The beneficiaries are genocide orphans that make “Dufite umurengezi Family” from Bibungo cell, Nyamiyaga sector in Kamonyi district.
Munyaneza narrates “Actions speak louder than words. Civic education should base on examples.”
It could never be fair to tell a starving Rwandan to go voting; instead the one teaching him or her should make sure he is okay socially. When you help that person, he or she follows every program you require of them,” adds Munyaneza.
Maurice Musoni, in charge of civic education in Kamonyi district stresses that the district gave 16 goats to help vulnerable genocide survivors in Kayumbu, Mugina and Rukoma sectors.
Musoni emphasizes that they do everything to help shape the future of genocide survivors basing on 18th genocide commemoration theme “Learning from history to build a bright future”.
